Our Devon Violets come from its original home of Babbacombe Pottery in South Devon .  Established by Maurice Lowndes-Pateman in 1921. Today products are still handmade and the business has been passed to  Brian Lowndes-Pateman (his grandson)  who has been worked in the family business all his life. Brian has become a good friend to the staff at The Old Apothecary and brought some products out of retirement to fit with our unique, nostaligic surroundings – a real trip down memory lane and exactly the same thing made by the same person that everybody brought home from their trip to Devon in the 1970s
